Physical location decides where a TonyBet account can take bets, and a home address in Ontario stops counting the moment you cross the border. The iGaming Ontario player FAQ says players may open or access Ontario accounts while away, but they "cannot place wagers on any of those accounts while not physically located in Ontario." A Toronto bettor on a work trip to Calgary can still log in to tonybet.ca and check a balance. The bet slip stays closed until the phone is back inside Ontario.
Outside Ontario, the address on record is tonybet.com/ca. That is the site the Kahnawake Gaming Commission prints next to the operator's name on its permit holder list, so it is the one to compare against when a link lands in your inbox. The two addresses sit under different regulators, and that difference decides who handles a complaint, a self-exclusion or a stalled payout.

The self-exclusion row has the longest reach. A six-month BetGuard break ends on a set date, while the Kahnawake version is written as final, so an exclusion filed in the wrong place can cost a player either too little protection or far more than intended. Both columns carry the same logo, yet only the Ontario address appears on a provincial list of regulated sites.
Is TonyBet Legal in Canada?
Yes in Ontario, where iGaming Ontario lists it; in most other provinces the brand relies on a Kahnawake permit instead of a provincial licence. The iGaming Ontario regulated market page, which I checked on November 5, 2026, lists TonyBet at tonybet.ca under Casino and Sports Betting, one of 84 gaming websites from 49 operators. Covers reported that the AGCO issued the operator registration on December 5, 2022. The AGCO site would not load for me, so that date rests on trade press rather than the register.
Kahnawake's permit holder list names the Estonian company Osauhing Tonybet, with the site tonybet.com/ca. No permit number appears beside the entry. The page was last updated on September 28, 2023, which makes it a confirmation of the holder's name and little else.
A Kahnawake permit carries no provincial weight. The Commission sits in the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake, which means a dispute over a non-Ontario account never reaches the AGCO, iGaming Ontario or BetGuard. Players outside Ontario swap the provincial safety net for the Commission's own regulations, and those regulations also set the complaint procedure when a payout stalls.
How TonyBet Complaints Are Handled by Region
Both regions send you to the operator first; the second step is where they part. iGaming Ontario wants a formal complaint lodged with the operator, plus the reference number the operator issues, and accepts escalation only when the operator has not answered or the follow-up went nowhere. Its player support page then draws a hard line: iGaming Ontario "does not resolve or make decisions on disputes regarding gambling-related transactions." A disputed bet on tonybet.ca therefore stays between you and the operator.
Three complaint types skip the operator. Advertising, responsible gambling and suspected illegal activity go straight to the AGCO through the iAGCO portal, with zero typed into the reference number field.
Kahnawake complaints go to [email protected] or the online form on its dispute resolution page, again after the operator has had its chance. The form wants your site name, user name and incident date. Phone submissions are refused. Anyone tempted to vent online first should wait: the Commission says a complaint already "discussed on any public forum" can hinder its help.
I prefer the Kahnawake wording on one point. The Commission says it makes "every attempt" to reach a solution between player and operator, which is closer to mediation than anything iGaming Ontario offers on a disputed transaction. Kahnawake also processes self-exclusion requests, and there its rules turn absolute.
TonyBet Self-Exclusion With BetGuard and Kahnawake
BetGuard covers the Ontario site along with every other regulated Ontario operator. iGaming Ontario launched BetGuard on May 14, 2026, with set terms of half a year, a year or five years, plus a custom option, for anyone 19 or older. Once enrolled, you lose access to existing accounts, cannot open new ones and stop receiving direct marketing from the more than 75 regulated sites the Minister cited.
Kahnawake exclusion is permanent. The Commission's player protection page calls an exclusion "PERMANENT AND IRREVOCABLE" and warns that money won by an excluded player can be forfeited to a charity the Commission selects. Its regulations also require a play limit that can go to zero.
For a player outside Ontario who wants a short break, that zero limit is the gentler tool. One Kahnawake request reaches every permit holder at once. BetGuard enrolment, by contrast, also cuts off direct marketing from every regulated Ontario site, bonus offers included.
TonyBet Welcome Bonus Outside Ontario
A 100% match up to CA$350 in bonus bets is the TonyBet welcome offer outside Ontario, according to SI's terms table from November 4, 2026. SI says the bonus bets equal the qualifying deposit. Its terms add 5x wagering on the deposit amount, minimum odds of -200 for singles and -143 for multi-bets, and 14 days to finish. The same page contradicts itself twice: a CA$15 minimum deposit in the terms against CA$20 in the claim steps, and 14 days against 7 in its comparison table.
Ontario shows no welcome bonus publicly. TheLines displays "No Offer Available" for tonybet.ca in its October 29, 2026 update, and SI writes that the welcome bonus "is not available on the Ontario site." Ontario rules limit where operators may advertise bonuses, so the promotions tab after login is the place to look.
I would treat the ROC bonus bet as a small extra and choose the site on its cashier and limits instead. SI says it must go on a multi-bet with at least three selections and the stake is not returned, so a CA$100 bonus bet pays out only its winnings. Gambling.com describes a separate four-deposit casino package worth up to CA$2,500 and 225 free spins in total, where free spin winnings carry 50x wagering and bets are capped at CA$10. This site earns commission from some sign-ups, as the affiliate disclosure explains. SI's CA$15 deposit floor also matches the card and e-wallet minimum in its own cashier table.
TonyBet Deposits and Withdrawals in CA$
Interac carries the lowest minimum on the non-Ontario cashier: CA$10, according to SI's November 2026 payment table, against CA$15 for Visa, Mastercard, Instadebit, MuchBetter and most e-wallets and CA$75 for crypto. SI lists every withdrawal method as "within 24 hours." It also says bank transfers cannot be used to withdraw, while the same table prints a CA$15 bank transfer withdrawal minimum.
Ontario limits look different in TheLines' October 29, 2026 entry. TheLines lists a CA$10 minimum deposit and withdrawal, plus withdrawal caps of CA$4,000 per day, CA$15,000 per week and CA$50,000 per month. TheLines names Visa, Mastercard, MuchBetter, Interac Direct Credit and MiFinity among the CAD methods. Payout times run from a few hours to 5 business days depending on the method, with first withdrawals slower because of extra verification.
Those Ontario caps do not stack the way they first appear. Three maximum days in a row move CA$12,000, which leaves only CA$3,000 of the weekly CA$15,000 for day four, so a large win leaves the account in weekly instalments. Reaching the monthly CA$50,000 ceiling takes a little more than three full weeks.
Are TonyBet Winnings Taxed in Canada?
CRA guidance covers lottery winnings, not betting by name. The Canada Revenue Agency's list of amounts you do not report keeps "lottery winnings of any amount" off your return, except where the prize is really business, employment or property income. Sports bets and casino wins get no mention of their own there.
Interest is a different matter. The same CRA page says income earned on those amounts is taxable, so interest on a withdrawn win parked in a savings account goes on your return. Anyone who bets as a business should ask CRA directly instead of relying on the lottery line.
